Safety and Integrity

Trust is very important when it comes to offering activities on the internet, and trust is something we take very seriously here at OpenTablePoker.com. We want you to trust us and feel 100% comfortable playing poker online. You put your trust in us that your play is fair and your money is secure. We value this enormously and will never compromise your experience.

Are your cards actually random?

100%! We employ Sun Microsystem's SecureRandom function for Java. Thorough testing and evaluation of the OpenTablePoker.com poker software by various third party auditing companies has found that:

*There was no statistical bias in cards dealt as pocket cards.
*There was no statistical bias in cards dealt to any of the board positions.
*There were no statistical differences in the cards dealt to games involving experienced players and the cards dealt to games involving new players.

We have also a database over the expected value for all of the played real money hands at our site. Or you can view the list of the pocket cards ranked by value or profit under Expected Value Statistics.

You can also search for the results of each starting cards combination. You can also view a statistical analysis of 500,000 real money hands dealt in the Texas Hold'em poker game.

If you remain unconvinced, there are links to the raw data (the hand histories), if you would like to conduct your own tests.

Do your cards favor certain players?

Absolutely not! Our cards are checked and verified to be completely random, and since you do not play poker against the house, but other players, there is no reason why we would favor any player.

Is it possible to predict the cards?

No! Our server sends out information only on a need-to-know basis, which means that there is no way to predict any coming cards or the other players' cards. The cards are not calculated until the very moment before they are sent out, so there is no way to know them in-advance (because they don't even "exist" in-advance). All sent information is also heavily encrypted.

Multiple Accounts

Network rules dictate that each customer may only have one account per operator. Our security systems (search for IP, cookie, supercookie, poker-style matches) and can detect if a customer has more than one poker account.

Anti-Collusion System

Colluding is defined as more than one account playing together as a team to gain an unfair advantage over other players. If a group of players know each other's cards they can play in a fashion so as to gain more money collectively from regular players at the same table. This kind of behavior is not tolerated under any circumstances. Accounts proven to be involved in collusion they will all be permanently removed from the network.

Such activities are monitored daily by the Ant-Collusion System. Dealing with accounts may take one of several different guises. Strange activities may just warrant preventing accounts from playing with each other at the same table. Repeated incidents involving related accounts may be regarded as stronger evidence and form part of the decision to remove them from the Network. When these decisions are made the accounts and style of play will be examined independently by several members of staff. The collusion system works in such way as to score every single real money hand if certain rules are broken. In doing so we are able to profile players very accurately.

Chip Dumping

Planned chip transfer is called 'dumping' and is not allowed on the Network. This can take place between friends swapping funds on a small-scale, or more seriously between fraudsters trying to 'clean' stolen deposits. We can discover this activity in a report which includes suspicious poker sessions during which players have gained or lost an abnormal amount of money to another player.
